Ace Harper: lead singer of electro-punk band Ace is High, song writer, profesh dancer. With her bleached tresses and tiny frame, it isn’t hard to imaging Ace as a pixie at the ballet bar, but with way more attitude. Especially since she combines her love of dance with with inspiration from the great front men and woman of Rock ‘n’ Roll, listing Iggy Pop, Mick Jaggar, David Bowie, Blondie, Tina Turner as icons. She is currently writing and recording her debut EP, and you’ll be able to catch her performing around Hollywood this summer!
How do music and fashion interact for you?
They interact in absolutely every way for me. Fashion is just as much of an expression for me as my music is. I am a very visual artist and have been influenced by the musicians that are just as much fashion icons like David Bowie and Debbie Harry. I want my show to be a full experience from the songs, to the performance to the fashion. It all tells a story of who I am.
What’s your favorite lyric that you’ve ever heard or written?
“I’m a street walkin’ cheetah with a heart full of napalm” from Search and Destroy by Iggy and the Stooges! I feel like super woman when I hear that song.
