“For whats its worth: It’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over” F. Scott Fitzgerald I have always been an artist but sometimes your art takes you on a different journey than expected. I’m always striving to grow as a woman and in turn I have grown as an artist. I started dancing at the age of 3. Dance was my first love and an escapism growing up in a very small town and carried me through my parents divorce through my teenage years. I don’t quite know where I would be without dance. I loved ballet and the extreme discipline and the beautiful torture of it. After achieving my goal of becoming a professional dancer and working for other musicians I decided I wanted to make my own artistic decisions. I have always been a writer as well having been inspired by Maya Angelou. That’s how my songwriting always begins. What do I want to say? It starts with a title, a concept, an experience and then I build on the imagery. I’m a very visual artist, so I can see the lyrics being painted in my head. That’s why I’m one of the many countless people inspired by David Bowie and his songwriting. I believe it’s never too late to rewrite your story. I hope for everyone to continue to follow their passion and if that means making a turn on your path to authenticity so be it. Ace Harper
