I absolutely loved Sheryl Sandberg’s book ‘Lean In.’ It was very eye opening for me. I know it was controversial for some people as well. She has also said, “If you do please everyone, you are not making enough progress.” I believe there is a movement happening with young girls. There is a dialogue about feminism, equal pay, and leaning in together. I want to be part of that movement with my music. I wrote a song called “Mouth Wide Open” It’s about saying exactly what you want as a woman. The lyric suggests a sexual connotation because maybe that’s how some men view women only as sexual beings and not intelligent business minded creatures. I have to say that we are all those things. I have been trying to unlearn the things that society and my southern “nice girl’ surroundings have put upon me. Here are the lyrics to the pre-chorus of the song which maybe my favorite part.
